"Pay Easy" is China's first integrated self-service electronic payment service launched by Guangzhou Telecommunications Bureau (GTB). This prevailing service accepts debit cards issued by the banks of China. No pre-registration is required that GTB customers can walk in at anytime for payment of local, long distance, international and mobile phone bills, plus pager, data line and any communications subscription fees.
In order to allow the widespread population to benefit from "Pay Easy", GTB installed UEMM at its service centers, component stores, outlets and representative offices, as well as various public areas including schools, hospitals, shopping arcades, banks, computer centers, plazas, suburbs and roadsides.
The System now handles over 300,000 transactions per month with an increase rate of 60%. In the future, GTB will stride for value-adding the system with bill settlement and ticket-vending services for other public utilities. It may also upgrade Pay Easy with IC card applications.
The success of Pay Easy is built on the strong belief of both GTB and Guangzhou Authority Office of State Administration of Taxation of China in gazing into futurity. They understand that electronic money will become mainstream of future payment mean; and self-service systems will tremendously reduce cost of running, increase productivity and enhance service quality.
