Addressing the small sum transaction market, VISA and DBS (HK)introduced the signature-free service at Broadway Cinema chain in Hong Kong in early August 2001. It allows VISA credit card holders to buy movie tickets without signing for them or using any pin number.
The express system realizes "credit" purchase of up to $200. It brings higher flexibility to consumers as no cash nor prepaid e-wallet is needed for small transactions. It is the pilot site in the Greater China region.
SPECTRA Technologies will keep on with the extension of VISA Express Payment system to other industries such as fast-food, car park, gas station etc. It expands the range of cash-free options in Hong Kong; it pushes Hong Kong one step closer to becoming cash-free.
